Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners defeated FDU-Florham, 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-22) in the first match of the night before they fell to Mount Saint Mary College (NY) 0-3 (15-25, 20-25, 19-25). The Roadrunners now stand at 2-7 overall.
Match One
Ramapo was led by
Caleigh Golabek who recorded 11 kills, two aces, and two blocks while
Riley Stewart led the way with four total blocks in the match and nine kills.
Julie Olazabal collected seven kills while
Alexandra Sacchinelli and
Hannah McTighe dished out 16 and 13 assists respectively. On defense,
Stephanie Ross posted a team high 21 digs while
Amanda Fatouh and
Grace Kim each tallied 14 digs of their own. Ramapo hit .200 in the match with 37 kills on 115 attempts and just 14 errors.
The Devils were led by Adrienne DeFuria who recorded nine kills, one ace and ten digs. Rachel Reiter and Abigail Rock each tallied seven kills for FDU-Florham. Reiter and Sophia Miskulin each posted two blocks while Erin Ahart (19) and Kacie Ros (13) split the setting duties. Charlotte Fruscione led the team on defense with 13 digs.
Match Two
In the second match of the night, Mount Saint Mary College hit .224 with 41 kills on 107 attempts and 17 errors. Grace Riddle led both teams with 20 kills while Jackie Wolf recorded 11 kills. Haley Houghton led the way with three blocks while Wolf and Riddle each tallied two in the match. Fran Cammarata dished out a team high 30 assists while Alyssa Barbara collected 21 digs on defense to lead the Blue Knights.
Ashley Pichardo posted seven kills for Ramapo while Golabek recorded a team high four aces while she added three kills. Stewart once again led the way with four blocks while McTighe dished out 11 assists and
Amanda Fatouh tallied 14 digs on defense.
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow afternoon at 3pm when they take on Brooklyn College. MSMC and FDU-Florham will play at 11am and Brooklyn vs. FDU-Florham is scheduled for 1pm.
