Mahwah, NJ: The New Jersey City University women's volleyball team remained undefeated with a 3-1 (27-29, 25-20, 25-23, 25-17) conference victory over Ramapo College tonight at the Bradley Center. The Gothic Knights improve to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners stand at 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
NJCU had three players record double digit kill totals in the match as they were led by Paola Toledo (14) while Rachael Pharo collected 13 and Leah Seickendick posted 12. Seickendick and Xarial Chandler each recorded three blocks while Sydney Lore tallied a match high 45 assists. Pharo led the way with 23 digs while Madaline Lopez and Ashley Jimenez collected 17 and 13 respectively. NJCU recorded 54 kills on the night on 175 attempts and 31 errors.
The Roadrunners were led by
Stephanie Ross who recorded a team high 11 kills, one ace, one block and 18 digs.
Ashley Pichardo recorded seven kills while
Alexandra Sacchinelli dished out a team high 15 assists.
Hannah McTighe posted 13 assists while
Grace Kim led Ramapo on defense with 19 digs.
Riley Stewart posted a team high three blocks in the match while
Caleigh Golabek recorded two. Ramapo posted 36 kills in the match on 151 attempts and 26 errors.
The team returns to the court on Thursday, September 23rd when they travel to. William Paterson University for a NJAC conference match at 7pm.
