Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College softball team earned the #8 seed in the 2021 NJAC Softball Tournament. This is the Roadrunners 22nd appearance in the NJAC Tournament and 6th straight under head coach
Bridgette Quimpo. She guided the Roadrunners to the program's first Tournament Title in 2015. It is the first time in conference history that all ten conference teams are competing in the tournament.
NJAC Bracket
The tournament begins Tuesday, May 4th with two first-round games. Each game is single elimination and is being played at the higher seed. Ramapo will host on #9 Rutgers-Newark University at the Athletic Center at 4pm while #7 Rutgers-Camden will host #10 New Jersey City University at 4pm. The quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds are all best-of-three series. The winner of the NJAC Softball Championship will earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament.
Ramapo (7-13/7-9 NJAC) swept Rutgers-Newark (2-16/2-16 NJAC) on April 20th in a pair of regular season games, 2-1 and 7-5.
Carli Egan leads the Roadrunners this season with 24 hits including eight doubles and a .358 batting average.
Jaclyn Monaco currently leads the team with a .432 batting average including 19 hits while she is 10-10 in stolen bases.
Mahogany Wheeler leads the team in the circle and at the plate. She's driven in a team leading 16 RBI with 16 hits including eight doubles. In the circle, she owns a 2.79 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 76 innings pitched. She's made 13 appearances on the mound along with 11 complete games while she's recorded five wins and one save.
Krista Verrino and
Anna Messina have also made an impact this season. Verrino leads the team with 12 runs scored while she's collected 14 hits including eight doubles. Messina's recorded 16 hits including one double with nine runs scored.
The winner of the first-round game in Mahwah will advance to play #1 Rowan University on May 7th-8th.
