Wayne, NJ: The William Paterson University baseball team defeated Ramapo College 8-0 today in NJAC action. The Pioneers improve to 12-2 overall and 3-0 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
Darmany Rivas (3-0) scattered four hits over six innings of work for WPU and he struck out five while walking four earning the win today on the mound. The WPU offense recorded ten hits including four extra base hits and one home run. The Pioneers scored one run in the first before they scored four in the fifth and three in the sixth. WPU have been ranked #23 in the latest D3baseball.com Top 25 Poll.
Seven different Roadrunners each collected seven hits in the game. Ramapo starting pitcher
Dan Russo (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound. He struck out two, walked three and scattered three hits while letting up just one run.
Ramapo and William Paterson return to action tomorrow in Mahwah to complete the home-and-home series. The NJAC conference game will start at 3:30pm.
