MEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS PURCHASE ON THE ROAD, 67-56

GORMAN NETS SEASON HIGH 21 POINTS

Purchase, NY: The Ramapo College men's basketball team defeated Purchase College tonight 67-56 in non-conference action on the road. The Roadrunners move to 2-7 overall while the Panthers now stand at 0-8 on the year.
 
Purchase took a 31-30 lead into the locker room at halftime before the Roadrunners outscored the Panthers 37-25 in the second half. Ramapo had three players score in double figures in the game as they were led by Peter Gorman who recorded a season high 21 points. Gorman finished 8-11 from the free throw line and 6-13 from the floor. He also added three assists, two steals, two rebounds and one blocked shot. Marquise Kindel posted his third double double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds while Jordan Myers collected 15 points and six rebounds. Shane Rooney contributed with seven points and seven rebounds while Justin Bladen tallied six points. The Roadrunners shot 46% (26-55) from the field, 25% (1-4) from the three-point line and 58% (14-24) from the free throw line in the game. The Ramapo defense forced 20 Purchase turnovers in the game which led to 25 points for Ramapo.
 
For the Panthers, Malcolm Hansford-Whyte led the way with 18 points while James Brady added 11 points and nine rebounds. Matthew Phillips posted a team high 11 rebounds while he added eight points and Eric Block contributed with nine points. The team shot 34% (21-61) from the field, 24% (7-19) from the three-point line and 63% (7-11) from the field in the game.
 
The Roadrunners will return to action on Saturday, December 18th when they host Farmingdale State College in a non-conference game at 2pm at the Bradley Center.
