Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team remained undefeated with a 75-49 win over John Jay College tonight at the Bradley Center. The Roadrunners move to 3-0 overall while the Bloodhounds now stand at 1-2 on the year.
The Roadrunners scored in double digits in all four quarters including 23 points in the second and fourth.
Jada Thompson and
Jackie Ventricelli each recorded a double double tonight as Thompson posted 16 points and 12 rebounds while Ventricelli added 14 points and a team high 15 rebounds.
Olivia Johnstone contributed with 11 points and seven rebounds while
Alie Wickersheim added eight points and 13 rebounds.
Shannon Burns tallied nine points while
Bridget Cahill collected six on the night. The Roadrunners shot 35% (28-78) from the field and 60% (18-30) from the free throw line. The Ramapo defense forced 25 turnovers which led to 25 points for the Roadrunners.
Katie Healy led John Jay with ten points and 15 rebounds while Jordyn Ruiz collected nine points and four rebounds. Amelia Moranska, Ayanna Edwards, Bobbi Green, Ashley Zeolla and Samantha Elitharp all contributed with six points while Green added ten rebounds of her own in the game. The team shot 29% (20-68) from the field, 18% (2-11) from the three-point line and 50% (7-14) from the free throw line.
The Roadrunners return to action on Thursday, November 18th when they host York College (NY) in a non-conference game at 5:30pm.
