Bronxville, NY: The Ramapo College women's basketball team opened the 2021-2022 season with a 90-51 road win over Sarah Lawrence College. The Roadrunners move to 1-0 overall while the Gryphons now stand at 1-1 on the season.

Three Roadrunners posted double figures in points as they were led by
Jada Thompson who scored 22 points on the night. Thompson finished 10-14 from the field while she pulled down nine rebounds and recorded three assists and three steals.
Shannon Burns posted 14 points while she grabbed eight rebounds and two steals while
Lyndsey Ross added ten points including 2-2 from beyond the three-point line.
Bridget Cahill posted nine points while
Alie Wickersheim and
Alison Ahern each contributed with eight points apiece. Â Ahern finished 6-10 from the free throw line to lead the team while she added eight rebounds. Ramapo shot 45% (32-70) from the field in the game, 37% from beyond the three-point line (6-16) and 60% (20-33) from the free throw line. The Ramapo defense forced 20 turnovers which led to 28 points for the Roadrunners.

The Gryphons were led by Jordyn Medina who posted a team high ten points and seven rebounds. Kimiko Katzaroff added nine points while Demitra Loukopoulos and Kumi Tamura each tallied eight points. Sarah Lawrence shot 31% (20-64) from the field, 13% (2-15) from the three-point line and 57% (9-16) from the free throw line.

The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, November 13th when they travel to Centenary University for a non-conference game at 1pm.
