Mahwah, NJ: The Rutgers-Camden women's soccer team earned a 2-1 NJAC road win over Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center. The Scarlet Raptors improve to 4-6-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the NJAC.
In the second half, Lindsay Hernandez converted a penalty kick in the 47th minute, her fourth goal of the season to put the Scarlet Raptors up 1-0. Lauren Calabria scored her first goal of the season in the 60th minute of action to extend the Rutgers lead, 2-0. Kayla DeGuzman earned the assist.
Carla Goodwin put Ramapo on the board in the 89th minute with a goal off a breakaway to cut the lead in half. The Scarlet Raptors held off the Ramapo comeback in the final minute of action to secure the 2-1 conference victory.
Rutgers-Camden recorded 15 shots in the game including nine on goal while Ramapo posted seven shots and five on goal. Ramapo held a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks. Chloe Beasley started the game for Rutgers-Camden and did not need to make a save in 40:12 while Kayla McKeever earned the win with four saves in 49:28 in the net.
Emma Conlan tallied seven saves for Ramapo in the game.
The Roadrunners (0-9-1 overall) return to action on Wednesday, October 13th when they travel to Montclair State University for a conference game at 7pm.
