MORAVIAN SLIPS PAST RAMAPO IN FIELD HOCKEY ACTION 3-2

Bethlehem, PA: The Moravian University field hockey team used a late fourth quarter goal to earn the Greyhounds a 3-2 non-conference victory over Ramapo College. The Greyhounds move to 13-2 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 11-6 on the year.
 
Sara Bietka put Moravian on the board in the second quarter, her fifth goal of the season in the 19th minute before Ramapo tied the game in the 25th minute. Victoria Docherty scored her team and conference leading 20th goal of the season as Maggie Farrell and Emily Ricciardi earned the assist.
 
In the third quarter, Moravian went up by one with a goal from Emily Wells, her fifth of the year in the 35th minute. Farrell then tied the game, 2-2, in the 37th minute with her sixth goal of the year for Ramapo as Docherty recorded the assist. Onalee Long would score the game-winner in the 57th minute of action for the Greyhounds as she took a pass from Maddie Call to put Moravian up 3-2 with under three minutes left in the game. The Greyhounds defense held off Ramapo's offensive attack in the final minutes to secure the non-conference victory.  
 
Ramapo led the way in the game with 18 shots including 12 on goal while Moravian posted six shots, five on goal. Greyhound goalkeeper Brook Wilkinson posted ten saves while Ramapo's Michelle Kukan recorded two. Ramapo also held a 13-4 edge in penalty corners in the game.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, October 30th when they host Misericordia University in the final regular season game of the season at 1pm. The team will honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
