Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team played host to Lehman College and Immaculata today as the went 2-0 to stand at 5-8 overall. In their first match, Ramapo defeated Lehman, 3-0 (25-6, 25-7, 25-10) and against Immaculata earned a second sweep, 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-16).
Match 1 vs. Lehman: The Roadrunners were led by Caleigh Golabek with seven kills on ten attempts and no errors hitting .700 while Ashley Pichardo collected six kills with three errors on 16 attempts hitting .188. Emily Shea added four kills as the team went 26-62 with nine errors hitting .274 in the win. Hannah McTighe collected 12 assists and Alexandra Sacchinelli dished out 11. Stephanie Ross led on defense with eight digs.
Lehman hit -.211 with five kills on 57 attempts and 17 errors. Doribel Duran led the way with two kills. Header Rodriguez dished out five assists and Andrea Alarcon collected a team leading six digs.
Match 2 vs. Immaculata: Pichardo led the Roadrunners in their second win as she recorded ten kills on 23 attempts with eight errors hitting .087. Amanda Fatouh and Julie Olazabal each collected eight kills as the team went 40-89 with 14 errors hitting .292. McTighe collected 16 assists and Sacchinelli added 15 as Ross picked up a team leading 13 digs.
For Immaculata, Ava Thorley led the team with seven kills as the team collected 20 in total. They hit .119 on 84 attempts with ten errors. Emily Ettien dished out 17 assists and McKenna Ryan picked up eight digs.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 5th when they travel to Montclair State for a 7pm start.
