Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team defeated Wheaton College (Ill.) 2-1 today in non-conference action at the Athletic Center Turf Field. The Roadrunners now stand at 7-6-1 overall while the Thunder drop to 7-4-1 on the year.
Massimo Gallorini took a pass from
Thiago Stallhbaum in the third minute (2:31) of the game to put Ramapo on the board 1-0. The score held the remainder of the first half with Ramapo taking eight shots to Wheaton's three.
In the second half, the Thunder tied the game with a goal from Alessandro D'Argento in the 52nd minute, his fourth of the season for the 1-1 tie. In the 55th minute of the game, Massimo slipped
Jonathan Junqueira a pass to score his second goal of the season and the eventual game-winner for the 2-1 lead. Ramapo held the Thunder the rest of the way to come away with the non-conference victory.
Each team collected 13 total shots in the game while Ramapo held a 10-7 advantage in shots on goal. Wheaton's recorded six corner kicks to Ramapo's three.
Joshua Schaffer recorded six saves for the Roadrunners while Hasten Biddlecome tallied seven for Wheaton.
