Mahwah, NJ: The #6 ranked Rowan University field hockey team defeated Ramapo College today at the Athletic Center-Turf, 8-0. The Profs remain undefeated in the NJAC at 4-0 and move to 10-2 overall. The Roadrunners move to 10-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
The Profs scored one goal in the first quarter and three goals in the second quarter to take a 4-0 lead heading into halftime. Rachel Stone scored the eventual game-winner before Vanessa Didonato (17:41) & (26:45) and Julia Patrone (19:17) pushed the Rowan score to 4-0. During the third quarter, Sydney Write and Kristiina Castagnola each tallied one goal pushing the Rowan lead to 6-0. Didonato and Castagnola scored back-to-back goals in the four quarter for the 8-0 score.
Rowan recorded 20 shots on goal and 18 penalty corners in the game while Ramapo posted three shots on goal and 11 penalty corners in the game.
Michelle Kukan recorded seven saves in 39 minutes of action for the Roadrunners and
Sam Conrad tallied five in the final 22 minutes of the game.
Abby Hainsworth collected one save for the Prof in the first 45 minutes while Aida Ingram recorded two saves in the final 15 minutes.
The Roadrunners return to action on Tuesday, October 19th when they host William Paterson University in a NJAC conference game at 3:15pm.
