RED HAWKS DEFEAT RAMAPO IN NJAC MEN'S SOCCER ACTION

Mahwah, NJ: The #8 ranked Montclair State University men's soccer team used an early first half goal to remain undefeated in the NJAC with an 1-0 road win over Ramapo College. The Red Hawks improve to 12-1-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 6-6-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the NJAC.
 
Amer Lukovic took a quick pass at the top of the 18-yard box from Josiah Crawford to put MSU on the board for the 1-0 lead. The goal came in the 10th minute of action and is Lukovic's team leading 14th goal of the season. The Roadrunners put the pressure on in the final minutes of the half, ending the first half leading 10-6 in shots while MSU posted four corner kicks to Ramapo's one.
 
MSU's defense held Ramapo scoreless the remainder of the game to come away with the 1-0 road victory. During the second half, MSU held a 7-3 advantage in shots while each team collected 13 shots for the game including 7-4 on goal in favor of the Red Hawks. MSU posted one corner kick in the second half while Ramapo collected two. Josh Schaffer posted six saves for Ramapo in goal. Shane Keenan started for MSU with three saves in just over 68 minutes of action while Andres Lezme made one stop in the final 21 minutes of play.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 16th when they take on Wheaton College (Ill.) in a non-conference game at 3:30pm. The Roadrunners will honor their senior class in a pre-game ceremony.
