Victoria Docherty led the Ramapo College field hockey team to a key NJAC victory over host Montclair State University tonight, 1-0. The Roadrunners earn their tenth win of the season and move to 10-3 overall and 2-1 in the conference while the Red Hawks even their overall record at 6-6 and stand at 1-2 in the NJAC.
Docherty set a new program record for goals in a season when she tallied her 19th of the year in the second quarter. The goal put Ramapo on the board in the 19th minute (18:59) as they took a 1-0 lead. Ramapo held a 6-5 advantage in shots in the first half while the Roadrunners collected four penalty corners to MSU's two. Docherty led the way with three total shots, all on goal while

Talitha Joustra and
Emily Ricciardi each tallied a shot on goal for the Roadrunners. For the game, each team collected six shots on goal while the Roadrunners tallied five penalty corners and MSU posted three.
Michelle Kukan tallied six total saves in the game and faced eight shots as Ramapo earned their sixth shutout of the season. For MSU, Lauren Pickul recorded four for the Red Hawks. Ramapo defeats MSU for the first time in program history while their ten wins is one shy of the program record 11 wins (2011).
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 16th when they host #6 Rowan University in a NJAC contest at 12pm at the Athletic Center Turf.
