Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

RAMAPO DEFEATS MOUNT SAINT MARY COLLEGE 15-8

Newburgh, NY:  The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team posted a 15-8 non-conference victory over the College of Mount Saint Mary. The Roadrunners improve to 2-1 overall while the Knights drop to 0-2 overall.
 
MSMC tallied the first two goals of the game for a quick 2-0 lead as Courtney Condron and Megan Shalvey scored back-to-back. Ramapo then went up 3-2 with three straight goals from Taylor Peracchio, Colleen Mason and Nicole Jaskot. Cat Halpin tied the game at three all with a goal with 19 minutes on the clock while Mason posted an unassisted goal (10:59) for a 4-3 lead. Devon DiRenno took a pass from Jaskot as the Roadrunners led 5-3 before Victoria Ward and Halpin tallied goals for the Knights for a 5-5 tie with just under five minutes left in the half. Armellino tacked on an unassisted goal with 3:09 on the clock in the first half to take a 6-5 lead, a lead they would hold until halftime.
 
Condron scored the first goal of the second half off a pass from Megan Shalvey before Peracchio tallied a goal off a pass from Jaskot for a 7-6 Roadrunner lead. Condron would score for MSMC to tie the game at seven before Ramapo would score six unanswered goals to take a 13-7 lead. Shannon Eagan and Peracchio each scored two goal during the run while DiRenno and Mason each added one. Shalvey put in the final goal of the night for the Knights, unassisted with less than ten minutes to play before Mason and Eagan wrapped up the scoring for Ramapo with one goal each to push the score 15-8.
 
Ramapo held a 36-26 advantage in shots in the game while Alexandra Kerwin posted 15 saves in the win for the Roadrunners.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, March 7th at 1:30pm at the Athletic Center turf field when they host Marywood University in a non-conference game.
