Mahwah, NJ: The Marywood Pacers proved to be too much today for the Ramapo College women's lacrosse team as they defeated the Roadrunners, 17-5 at home at the Athletic Center. With the loss the Roadrunners fall to 2-2 overall. Marywood remains undefeated at 3-0.
Marywood would lead 6-0 on five free position shots and a goal from Zoe Simeone, before
Colleen Mason got the Roadrunners on the board with 13:03 left in the half. It was the lone goal of the first 30 minutes for Ramapo as they headed into halftime down, 1-11. Marywood would out shoot Ramapo 22-5 while they grabbed nine draw controls to Ramapo's four.
Alexandra Kerwin made seven saves in the half for Ramapo.
The Pacers would score the first two goals of the second half to take a 13-1 lead and
Nicole Jaskot hit the back of the net with 23:00 on the clock to close the gap, 2-13. With Marywood ahead, 17-2,
Briana Garcia, off an assist from
Taylor Peracchio, scored one for Ramapo at 8:54. Peracchio would strike with back-to-back goals of her own but it wasn't enough as Marywood would take the win, 17-5. Marywood again led in shots, 12-8 and draw controls, 8-3.
Kerwin finished the day with eight saves and
Erika Larsen played the final 23 minutes making two saves of her own. Emily Dyminski played the entire game for Marywood making six saves in the net.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, March 11
th when they host College of Mt. St. Vincent at home at 4pm.
