MCBREEN EARNS 400TH CAREER COACHING MILESTONE IN 74-54 WIN

Mahwah, NJ: Ramapo College men's basketball head coach, Chuck McBreen, records his 400th career win tonight as the Roadrunners defeat NJAC rival Rutgers Camden, 74-54. Ramapo improves their overall record to 14-9, 10-6 in the NJAC. The Scarlet Raptors fall to an overall record of 7-6, 4-12 in the NJAC.
 
A layup by Marquise Kindel put Ramapo on the scoreboard to open the first half. The teams traded baskets until Ramapo's Mansfield Warren and Connor Romano sunk back-to-back three-point shots to propel the Roadrunners ahead, 17-12. The Scarlet Raptors answered back with a three from Jake Petrik, closing the gap to two points. Towards the end of the half, the Roadrunners went on a mini 7-0 run, with jumpers from Rob McWilliams and Jordan Zagadou and capped off with a three-point shot from McWilliams. Romano sunk a three-pointer to end the first half with the Roadrunners up, 39-31. Ramapo was led by two players who scored in double-digits, McWilliams with 16 points and Romano with 12 points, with the team shooting 57.1% (16-28) overall from the field. Holding up the defensive end is Kindel who grabbed up 9 rebounds. The Scarlet Raptors were led by Isaac Destin with 14 points, with the team shooting an overall 40% (12-30) from the field.
 
Entering the second half, both teams went neck-and-neck alternating baskets until Ramapo went on an 8-0 run, including a three-pointer from Jason Battle and two layups from McWilliams. The Scarlet Raptors' Isaac Destin blocked a shot that quickly translated into two free throws from Keysean Simmonds, still leaving Rutgers-Camden behind, 43-55. Late in the half, Zagadou went on a 6-0 run by himself, while blocking a shot from the Scarlet Raptors to ignite the crowd. Simmonds sunk a three-point shot to try and get the Scarlet Raptors back in the game, but a slam dunk from Zagadou sealed the fate of the Roadrunners with a victory, 74-54. Ramapo was led by four players who scored in double-digits, McWilliams with 26, Zagadou with 14, Romano with 12 and Battle with 10. Defensively, Kindel led the Roadrunners, grabbing a team high 17 rebounds. Overall, Ramapo shot 50.8% (30-59) from the field.
 
The Scarlet Raptors were led by two players, Destin with 20 points and Arian Azemi with 10 points. Destin also led the team in rebounds, tallying 6. Rutgers Camden shot 37% (20-54) from the field.
 
The Roadrunners are back to action this Saturday, February 15th when they face the William Paterson at 3pm in the Bradley Center. Ramapo will honor the senior class in a pre-game ceremony while at half-time they will welcome back the 1991 Men's Basketball team who reached the NCAA Final Four.
