RAMAPO DROPS TOUGH GAME ON ROAD

Glassboro, NJ:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team traveled to Rowan University for a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up where they suffered a tough loss, 53-84.  With the loss the team falls to 9-11 overall and 3-10 in the NJAC.  Rowan improves to 17-3 overall and 11-2 in conference play.

Ramapo was led by Jessica Repasy with 11 points and Samantha Rinaldi with ten as the team hit 18-56 (32%) in the game.  Repasy pulled down eight rebounds and Stacey Porzl and Rinaldi each dished out two assists.

The Profs opened the game with a three-point goal from Kennedy Brown and led by six (6-0) after a second three fell, this time from Alexis Kriley.  Jenn Harsh would answer with a long shot of her own to get Ramapo on the board, 3-6 with 7:25 to play.  The two teams would trade baskets until a shot from Porzl landed for a Ramapo lead, 9-8.  The lead would change a few times over the remainder of the quarter as Rowan led at the buzzer, 13-12. It would take over one minute for a basket to fall to start the second but at 8:56, Rinaldi would give the Roadrunners back the lead with a layup, 14-13.  With Ramapo ahead, 16-15, the Profs would connect three three-point goals from Kriley, Eliana Santana and Jazlyn Duverglas to take a 24-16 lead and force a Ramapo timeout at 6:00 flat. A three from McKenna Dowd and one from Juliette Tobin would put the Profs on top, 35-23 with 1:26 to play.  Mallard would score a final basket for the Profs to lead 37-23 at the halftime buzzer.  Harsh led Ramapo with five points and the Profs were led by Kriley and Duverglas each with six.  Ramapo shot 10-29 (35%) while the Profs went 14-39 (36%).

The Profs slowly spread their lead over the 3rd quarter and worked to a 64-35 lead at the buzzer as Savanna Holt nailed down a three with one tic left on the clock.  Rowan would outscore the Roadrunners 27-12 in the quarter as they finished the quarter on a 7-0 run.  Rowan scored back-to-back-to-back threes to start the fourth pushing their lead to 73-38 with 6:42 to go.  Two more three pointers down the stretch proved too much for Ramapo to handle as the Profs earned the 84-53 win. Mallard led the Profs with 14 second half points while Repasy led Ramapo with 11.

Rowan was led by Mallard with 18 points as she sunk 5-6 from the field including two three-pointers.  Duverglas sunk 12 and Holt added 11.  The team hit a combined 27-71 (38%).  Santana pulled down ten rebounds and grabbed three steals in the win.  Holt and Tobin each dished out five assists.
