Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's basketball team clinched an NJAC conference win this afternoon against Stockton University, 51-48. The Roadrunners improve to a 9-9 overall record, 3-8 in the NJAC, while Stockton stands at 7-11 overall, 2-9 in the NJAC.

To begin the first half, both teams traded baskets from the field, but the level of energy was heightened when
Jenna Harsh netted a three-point goal from the baseline. The first quarter ended with a quick jumper from Harsh to keep the Roadrunners ahead, 13-10. Stockton came out hot into the second quarter with a 7-point run right off the bat, that started with a jumper from Maddie McCracken. Ramapo's Allie Wickersheim quickly answered with back-to-back layups to tie up the game, 17-17. The Ospreys went on a six point-run towards the end of the first half, but a buzzer-beater layup from Ramapo's
Jessica Repasy closed out the quarter with Stockton in the lead, 31-24.

In the first half, the Roadrunners were led by two players who each scored nine points, Wickersheim and Harsh. The Ramapo defense was well spread out, with seven players grabbing rebounds, contributing to the team's total of 13 rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 39.3% (11-28) from the field, 14.3% (1-7) from the three-point line and 100% (1-1) from the free-throw line.

The Ospreys were led by Kiley Gelston who totaled seven points, closely followed by Lajerah Wright and McCracken who tallied six points each. Gelston was also a key factor to the Osprey's defense, grabbing a team high of eight rebounds. Stockton shot 33.3% (9-27) from the field, 0% (0-8) from the three-point line and 68.4% (13-19) from the free-throw line.

Explosive jumpers from Wickersheim and
Sarah Minchin ignited the second half for the Roadrunners, slimming the gap to five points. Stockton went on a mini 6-0 run, led by Emily Donzanti to pull away from the Roadrunners, 39-30. The gym erupted in screams when Repasy sank a three-point goal from the top of the key, followed by a pair of free-throw shots from Wickersheim, closing the gap to four points.
Cherie Smedile got on the board with a three-point goal to start the final quarter. Stockton stayed in the lead with a three-point shot from Armanee DeBarry, but it was quickly followed by Minchin with a jumper, to make it a two-point game for the Roadrunners. Repasy cut through the paint to sink a layup, to tie up the game, 46-46. A diving steal from
Bridget Cahill was quickly translated into a three-point goal by Cahill, that pushed the Roadrunners ahead, 49-46 with 38.9 seconds left. Cahill sank a pair of free-throw shots to seal the victory over Stockton, 51-48.

Overall, Ramapo was led by two players who scored in the double digits, Wickersheim with 15 and Harsh with 11. Wickersheim also held down the defensive end of the game, snagging up eight rebounds. The Roadrunners shot 34.5% (20-58) from the field, 26.7% (4-15) from the three-point line and 100% (7-7) from the free-throw line.

The Ospreys were led by Gelston who netted nine points, and DeBarry, Wright and McCracken who all tallied eight points each. Wright also had a strong defensive game, grabbing 10 rebounds. Stockton shot 28.8% (15-52) from the field, 0% (0-14) from the three-point line and 64.3% (18-28) from the free-throw line.

th when they travel to Montclair State University for an NJAC matchup against the Hawks at 6pm.Â
