MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS IN TWO TOUGH MATCHES ON THE ROAD

Poughkeepsie, NY:  The Ramapo College men's volleyball team fell in two non-conference matches on the road this afternoon. Vassar College defeated Ramapo 3-0 (25-19, 25-20, 25-16) in the first match of the day while #4 Endicott College defeated the Roadrunners 3-0 (5-21,25-15,25-23). The Roadrunners now stand at 1-4 overall.
 
The Roadrunners hit .254 in the match against the host Brewers as they were led by Jason van der Wilt who tallied eight kills. Connor Charlow added seven kills while Eric Van Thuyne collected six kills in the match. Josh Titus dished out a team high 22 assists while he added three digs. Tyler Plitt led the team on defense with six digs. Rampao tallied 28 total kills in the match on 63 attempts while they recorded 12 errors.
 
Vassar (4-2 overall), who received votes in the latest AVCA Top 15 Poll, hit .414 as a team with 36 kills on 70 attempts and just seven errors. Ryan Duchemin hit .636 for the team with eight total kills while he added one ace and one block. Kevin Ros tallied a team high nine kills while he added, two aces, two assists and three digs. Steven Koja dished out a team high 21 assists while he added four digs and one block.
 
Against Endicott (2-2 overall), who are ranked #4 in the latest AVCA Top 15 Poll, the Roadrunners were led by van der Wilt and Van Thuyne who each tallied nine kills. Van Thuyne added three digs and one block while van der Wilt tallied four digs and two blocks. Titus led the team with 21 assists while Plitt collected a team high six digs. Charlow led the team with three blocks while he added four kills in the match. Ramapo hit .188 in the match with 29 total kills on 80 attempts and 14 errors.
 
Donovan Dey led Endicott with 12 kills and a team high seven digs while Erich Roman tallied seven kills, three assists and five digs. Chad Riorden posted a team high 22 assists while he added three aces and four digs. The team hit .304 in the match with 38 total kills on 79 attempts with 14 errors.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, February 1st when they host SUNY Potsdam and Emmanuel College in a non-conference tri-match starting at 12pm.
