Lake Wales, FL: The Ramapo College men's volleyball team won their 2020 season opener tonight on the road at Warner University 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 14-25, 25-21). The Roadrunners now stand at 1-0 overall while the Royals open the season at 0-1 overall.
Eric Van Thuyne led the Roadrunners with 14 kills while he added a team high four aces and eight digs.
Jason van der Wilt posted 11 kills in the match with five digs, two aces and two total blocks while
Conor Charlow and
Stephen Codispodo each contributed with eight kills. Charlow led the team with four total kills, including two solo while also leading the team by hitting .571 in the match.
Josh Titus dished out a team high 38 assists while he added six digs and two total blocks while
Tyler Plitt collected eight digs on defense. The team hit .303 in the match. With 47 kills on 109 attempts and just 14 errors.
Three Royals tallied double digit kills in the match while they were led by David Hernandez with 12 kills. Eduardo Ayala and Augusto Silva added 11 kills each while Matheus Collares dished out a team high 24 assists. Franky Zamora posted 17 assists in the match while Esdras Panchame posted a team high 12 digs on defense while Silva collected eight of his own. The team hit .231 in the match with 44 kills on 104 attempts and 20 errors.
Ramapo returns to action tomorrow morning when they take on host Webber International University at 11am and Alvernia University at 1pm.
