Frederick, MD: The Ramapo College field hockey team dominated Hood College this afternoon recording their second straight shutout 6-0. The Roadrunners improve to 3-1 overall while the Blazers dropped to 0-4 overall.
Victoria Docherty scored the eventual game-winning goal while also collecting a team high five points in the game. Docherty scored in the 7th minute of action to put Ramapo on the board 1-0 with an assist from
Maggie Farrell.
Angela Oskierko collected her first goal of the season in the 10th minute, assisted by
Katie Yarussi for a 2-0 score. The Roadrunners scored on a penalty corner in the second period as
Victoria Ewanis hit the back of the net while
Emily Glutz and Docherty recorded assists.
Mariah Tovar would make it 4-0 with a goal in the third period (42nd minute) while Docherty collected her second assist of the game. Tovar's goal was her team leading third of the season. Yarussi scored the final two goals for Ramapo in the 43rd and 59th minute with assists from
Lucy MacKenzie and
Sam Della Rovere to push the score to 6-0.
Ramapo outshot Hood 35-1 while also collecting 18 penalty corners to Hood's two.
Samantha Stolker needed just one save in the game in the net for the Roadrunners. Kenzie Blair posted 11 saves while Nicole Bennett collected six of her own for Hood, each goalie playing two quarters.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, September 11th when they host FDU-Florham in a non-conference game at 4pm.
