Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team played host to the City College of New York today as they posted a 8-0 victory to improve to 6-0-4 overall on the year. The Beavers fall to 0-8.
The Roadrunners would get on the board first in the game as
Bashkim Saiti posted his seventh of the season off an assist from
Joseph Fala and
Ariton Mimini. The goal gave the Roadrunners a 1-0 advantage at 13:02.
At 27:42,
Raul Macedo put Ramapo ahead two goals to none as he took a pass from Fala. The goal was his second of the season.
At the halftime buzzer Ramapo led in shots, 16-2 and freshman goaltender
Matthew Wilcox made one save. The Roadrunners earned six corners to CCNY'S zero. Kacper Lesniak made ten saves in net for the Beavers.
To start the second, Ramapo quickly jumped ahead 4-0 after Macedo posted his second of the game off assists from
Eduardo Reyes and
Justin Charkowski before Fala capitalized on a penalty kick in the 48th minute. Macedo for the hat trick as he scored in the 57th minute to put Ramapo up, 5-0. Rookie
Andrew Greitz scored his first goal of his collegiate career off an assist from fellow rookie
Peyton Jones before Jones dished a ball to
Brian Kelly who scoring his first of his collegiate career Kelly added another off an assist from
Kyle Barbosa wrapping up the 8-0 win.
In the final half, Ramapo again led in shots, 15-6 while they led in corners, 2-0. Wilcox made two saves in the half.
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 2nd when they travel to Rutgers Newark for a 7:30pm start.
