Newburgh, NY: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team earned two wins today as they improved to 7-1 overall. The Roadrunners defeated SUNY Maritime 3-0 (25-9,25-14,25-14) and host Mount Saint Mary College (NY) 3-0 (25-17,25-16,25-16).
Morgan Ridgway hit .350 against Maritime while she led the team with nine kills.
Stephanie Ross added seven kills, four aces and five digs while
Hannah Frascella posted six kills and four digs.
Kate Shirkey recorded a team high 19 assists while she added four aces and three digs.
Karina Almeda led the team on defense with 15 digs while she collected two assists and two aces. The team hit .280 in the match with 31 total kills.
Maritime collected 16 total kills as a team as they were led by Meghan Eagleton with five. Erika Kirchner posted 11 assists while she also led the team with eight digs.
Against MSMC, Frascella led the way with nine kills while she added two blocks and three digs. Ridgway posted six kills, one ace and 14 digs while Almeda tallied a match high 29 digs on defense. Shirkey collected a team high 17 assists while posting five digs. The team collected 30 total kills in the match.
The Knights were led by Danielle Kralik who tallied eight kills while Grace Riddle collected six kills of her own. Emily Mazzurco posted 15 assists while she added nine digs. Alyssa Barbara and Riddle led the team with 16 digs each in the match.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to the College of Saint Elizabeth for a non-conference match on Tuesday, October 1st. The match begins at 7pm.
