Oneonta, NY: The SUNY Oneonta field hockey team defeated Ramapo College 5-2 today in non-conference action. The Red Dragons move to 4-5 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-6 on the year.
Neither team put a goal into the back of the net before Oneonta scored in the third period. Grace Bilow scored off a rebound, unassisted in the 38th minute (37:45) before Ramapo would tie the game in the final period.
Victoria Docherty scored her third goal of the season with a double assist coming from
Victoria Ewanis and
Emily Glutz. The Red Dragons would tally three unanswered goals to take a 4-1 lead before the Roadrunners cut the lead in half with a goal from Glutz (57:33), assisted by Ewanis. Alise Anson recorded the final goal of the game for Oneonta to extend the lead 5-2.
Samantha Stolker tallied eight saves in the game for Ramapo while Kristy Campana kept Ramapo off the board with 12 saves of her own. Both teams tallied 17 shots while the Roadrunners held a 15-14 advantage in penalty corners.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd when they host Manhattanville in a non-conference game at 4:30pm.
