MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS WESTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 4-2

Danbury, CT:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team improved to 5-0-3 overall with a 4-2 win at Western Connecticut State University this afternoon. The Roadrunners snapped the Colonials seven-game win streak while also handing them their second loss of the season. WestConn now stands at 7-2 overall.
 
The Colonials got on the board first in the game with a goal from Matthew Restrepo in the 14th minute of action (13:30) for an early 1-0 lead. Ramapo would tie the game 1-1 when Bashkim Saiti hit the back of the net off a pass from Raul Macedo in the 27th minute (26:47).
 
The score remained tied heading into the second period before Joseph Fala scored his first goal of the game off a pass from Eduardo Reyes to put Ramapo up 2-1 (49:08). Restrepo would tally his second unassisted goal of the game to once again tie the game 2-2 in the 62nd minute (61:55). Fala would net the eventual game-winning goal off a corner kick from Ronald Kestelboym in the 81st (80:35) minute to put the Roadrunners ahead 3-2. Dorant Bokshi and Ariton Mimini gave Ramapo an insurance goal in the 85th (84:56) minute as Bokshi scored his first goal of the year for the 4-2 lead.
 
Ramapo held a 14-11 advantage in shots in the game and 4-3 margin in corner kicks over WestConn. Joshua Schaffer tallied two saves in the net for the Roadrunners while Daniel Szabo posted two for WestConn.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, September 28th when they host NJAC rival the College of New Jersey at 1pm at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
