RAMAPO WIN STREAK SNAPPED IN LOSS AT ROWAN

Glassboro, NJ:  The Rowan University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight 3-2 (26-28, 25-17, 25-20, 17-25, 15-9) in NJAC action. With the win the Profs (8-7 overall, 1-1 in the NJAC) snapped the Roadrunner's (4-1 overall, 0-1 NJAC) four match win streak.
 
Ramapo battled in set one to take the game 28-26 while they fell in the next two games. The Roadrunner evened the match with a win in the fourth set 25-17 before the Profs jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the fifth set before taking the match 15-9. Ramapo's Morgan Ridgway led the team with 13 kills, two aces and two blocks while Stephanie Ross and Hannah Frascella each posted 12 kills apiece in the match. Ross also collected 18 digs and two aces while Frascella posted one block. Samantha Main led the team with three blocks while Kate Shirkey and Sara Correa dished out 25 and 22 assists respectively. Karina Almeda led the team on defense with 27 digs while Caleigh Golabek hit .455 in the match with ten kills on 22 attempts and no errors. The team tallied 48 total kills in the match.
 
For Rowan, Kailey Gallagher led both teams with 20 kills as she hit .381 in the match. Megan Jacobi posted 15 kills while Natalie Ogden tallied 12 kills and 23 digs. Cassidy Abdalla led the team with four blocks while adding ten kills. Tori Mock dished out a team high 41 assists while Simone Sparano led the team on defense with 33 digs. The Profs recorded 67 total kills in the match.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Thursday, September 26th when they host Rutgers-Newark University in NJAC action at 7pm.
