Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's tennis team defeated Yeshiva University tonight 7-2 at the Athletic Center. The Roadrunners move to 2-0 overall while the Maccabees stand at 0-1 overall.
Kevin Ilinets and
Joshua Halperin earned Ramapo's only win in doubles action 8-7 at third doubles before moving onto singles play.
Alex Kogut earned a 6-7, 6-2, 10-8 win at first singles while
Kenny Elliott won another tough match at second singles 3-6, 6-4, 11-9. Ilinets posted a 6-0, 6-4 win at third singles while Halperin won at fourth singles 6-3, 3-6, 10-3.
Cyrus Dastparvardeh (6-2, 7-6) and
Seth Frey (6-1, 6-1) each won their matches at fourth and fifth singles respectively.
Ramapo will return to action Saturday, September 28th when they host the Roadrunner Invitational. The Roadrunners will host FDU-Florham and Drew University beginning at 10am.
