Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College softball team earned the #4 seed in the 2019 NJAC Tournament and will travel to #3 seed Kean University tomorrow afternoon for a 4pm game at Cougar Field. The first round of the tournament will be held at the higher seed before the #1 seed the College of New Jersey will host the weekend portion beginning on Friday. Ticket sales will be $5 for adults; $2 for children, seniors and students. The winner of the tournament earns the conference's automatic bid to the 2019 NCAA Tournament.

The Roadrunners (22-12) are making their fifth straight appearance in the tournament and the 15th in the last 18 seasons. Ramapo and Kean met just a few days ago when the Cougars swept the Roadrunners in a pair of 4-2 games on Saturday afternoon at the Athletic Center in Mahwah. The Roadrunners have two players hitting over .400 and three with 40 or more hits so far this season. Carli Egan leads the team with a .432 batting average and a team high 48 hits and 30 RBI while Krista Verrino is second on the team with a .407 batting average while she's collected 46 hits including a team high 16 doubles. Jackie Howarth is third with a .377 batting average, tied for second in doubles with 12 while she leads the team with 13 stolen bases.
 
Erin Fitzsimmons (13-8) leads the team in the circle with a 1.69 ERA with 29 appearances, 18 starts and 16 complete games. She also leads the team with 93 strikeouts over 145 innings pitched while also adding two saves. Jessica Becchetti (8-3) has made 16 appearances in the circle for Ramapo this season with 14 starts and two complete games. She's tallied 20 strikeouts over 68.1 innings pitched while combining with Fitzsimmons with three shutouts. The duo also combined for a no-hitter earlier this season over Rutgers-Newark.
