Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College baseball team defeated New Jersey City University today 7-1 as the Roadrunners won their fourth straight game moving to 17-10 overall and 8-3 in the NJAC. The Gothic Knights now stand at 12-14 overall and 2-9 in the conference.

NJCU put one run on the board in the top of the third inning when Tom Pulcine drove home Juan Pena with an RBI double down the right field line. Ramapo would come back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning.
Kyle Lisa worked a leadoff walk, stole second and moved to third on a wild pitch before
Anthony Kuzmenko drove him home with a single to center field, 1-1.

Ramapo took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning when Lisa laced a single to left field plating
Matt Carovillano.
Kyle Buser connected on his second home run of the season, a two-run home run, in the fifth inning to extend the lead 4-1.
Vincent Timpanelli scored on the home run, he led off the fifth with a single. The Roadrunners added one run in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead. With runners on first and third and two outs, Timpanelli drove home

The Roadrunners added two more runs in the seventh. Buser led off with a double before
Kellen Hardy was hit by a pitch, the pair moved up one base on a sac bunt before Carovillano laced a double down the left field link to plate both runs, 7-1. The Ramapo pitching staff held the Gothic Knights in the final two innings to earn the conference win. Â

Tyler Lombardo worked the first four innings earning a no-decision. He struck out six, walked four and scattered five hits while surrendering just one run.
Riley Weis (2-2) earned the win in relief as he worked three complete innings, struck out one and scattered one hit.
Matt Stewart pitched the eighth inning with one strikeout while
Dan Russo worked the ninth, neither Stewart or Russo surrendered a hit.

Buser led the offense with a 3-4 day with two runs scored and two RBI while Kuzmenko, Timpanelli and Carovillano each collected two hits in the game.

The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow when they travel to NJCU to complete the home-and-home series with the Gothic Knights at 3:30pm.
