Buena Vista, VA: The Eagles of Juniata College advanced in the 2019 CVC Conference Tournament with a 3-1 (25-27, 25-16, 25-22, 25-18) win over Ramapo College in the quarterfinals. The #3 Eagles move to 21-7 overall and will take on #2 Kean University tomorrow night at 6:30pm. The Roadrunners now stand at 15-15 overall and will wait to hear if they earned an ECAC Tournament bid on Monday afternoon.
Quinn Peterson and Joe Fick led the Eagles in the match with 14 kills each while Peterson recorded seven digs, two blocks and two aces. Kevin Duffy recorded eight kills and three blocks including one solo block while David Hibner hit .462 in the match with seven kills on 13 attempts and just one error. Michael Young dished out a team high 37 assists while adding seven digs and one assisted block. Daniel Voronov led the team on defense with 12 digs. The team hit .293 in the match with 47 kills on 99 attempts and 18 errors.
Stephen Codispodo led the Roadrunners with ten kills while he added three assisted blocks.
Eric Van Thuyne tallied nine kills and three digs while
Jason Van Der Wilt recorded seven kills, one ace and five digs in the match.
Brenden Russell contributed with five kills and two blocks, including one solo while
Conor Charlow added four kills, three total blocks and four aces.
Josh Titus posted 31 assists while he added one ace, one kill, six digs and two solo blocks.
Tyler Plitt led both teams on defense with a match high 15 digs. The Roadrunners tallied 36 total kills in the match along with eight aces and 33 digs.
