Wilkes-Barre, PA: The Ramapo College women's lacrosse team continues to shine as they defeated King's College today, 15-9 on the road. With the victory the Roadrunners stand at 6-2 overall. King's falls to 3-7.
Ava Rinaldi led the Roadrunners with four goals and Shannon Eagan and Nicole Jaskot each added three in the win. Alexandra Kerwin finished the game with 13 saves.
Molly Warner opened the scoring for Ramapo off an assist from Gabi Davidson under four minutes into the game before Emma Lehman tied it up for King's almost three minutes later. The two teams traded goals over the next ten minutes or so until Eagan, Davidson, Beth McGraw and Warner collected back-to-back goals to take a 7-3 lead. Rinaldi collected three and King's added a fourth as the buzzer sounded with Ramapo ahead, 10-4.
In the half, Ramapo led in shots, 20-9 and Kerwin made three saves.
Jaskot opened the second half with two straight goals before King's cut the lead down to six, 6-12 with back-to-back points of their own. The Roadrunners held off an offensive push by King's at the end of the second half to take the game, 15-9.
It was King's who led in shots in the second, 17-8 and Kerwin rounded out the final half with ten saves.
The Roadrunners led in ground balls with 30 to King's 25 while the two teams went even with 13 draw controls.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, April 6th when they travel to Stockton University for a 1pm start in a NJAC competition.
