Madison, NJ: The Fairleigh Dickinson University – Florham women's lacrosse team defeated Ramapo College 12-8 this afternoon in non-conference action. The Devils evened their overall record at 3-3 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-2 overall.
The Devils scored three goals to open the game before Ramapo got on the board when
Beth McGraw and
Gabi Davidson scored back-to-back goals to come within one of tying the game 2-3. Madison Wood and Caroline Paper scored a goal each for FDU before
Caitlin Ernest hit the back of the net for Ramapo, the final goal of the half, as the Devils led 5-3 at halftime.
In the second half the Devils would push the lead to 11-3 with six unanswered goals. The Roadrunners would make a late second half run when they struck together four goals of their own. Davidson started the run with a goal in the 23rd minute off before
Shannon Eagan scored in the 24th minute while
Molly Warner assisted on each. Eagan then added two more goals to close out the game in the 27th and 30th minute of action, but it was not enough as FDU-Florham posted a 12-8 non-conference victory.
Eagan led the way for Ramapo with three goals while Davidson posted two and Warner led the team with three assists. Ramapo held a slight advantage in shots in the game 30-29 while Alexandria Kerwin recorded seven saves, all in the second half for Ramapo.
Ramapo returns to action on Monday, March 25th when they host The College at Old Westbury at 4pm at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
