Camden, NJ: The Rutgers-Camden University women's basketball team defeated Ramapo College 68-52 tonight in NJAC action. The Scarlet Raptors improve to 14-9 overall and 9-7 in the NJAC while the Roadrunners now stand at 9-14 overall and 4-12 in the conference.

Rutgers-Camden opened the game on a 14-2 run before Ramapo ended the first quarter on a 9-5 run of their own 19-11 as
Jenna Harsh posted back-to-back baskets including a jumper at the buzzer. A three-pointer from Gabby Greene to start the second quarter put the Scarlet Raptors up 22-11. Harsh recorded a layup and Fatimah Williams converted on a pair of free throws before Harsh sank her first three-pointer of the game off a dish from
Samantha Rinaldi (8:19) 16-24. Wykira Johnson-Kelly made a three-pointer of her own with 7:01 left in the first to start a 13-2 run capped off by a another three-pointer from Johnson-Kelly 37-18 with 4:29 on the clock. Ramapo ended the second quarter on a 10-2 run started by
Tia Solomon with a free throw and capped off with a jumper from Harsh. Johnson-Kelly converted on a pair of free throws as Rutgers-Camden went into the locker room up 39-28.

Cherie Smedile scored the first basket of the third quarter, a jumper off a pass from
Amber Sagan before Rutgers-Camden went on a mini 5-0 run to extend the lead to 44-30. A layup from
Tia Solomon cut the Scarlet Raptors lead to 13 with 7:13 left in the third before Rutgers-Camden went on a 12-3 run that extended the lead 59-37 with less than three minutes left on the clock. The run was capped off with a three-pointer from Tamara Johnson. Sagan tallied the last three points in the quarter for Ramapo as she converted on an and-one play with 33 seconds on the clock as Rutgers-Camden led 59-40 heading into the final quarter. The Roadrunners were only able to shrink the Rutgers-Camden lead to 15 twice in the final ten minutes of action, both times on the free throw line.
Alie Wickersheim sank a pair of free throws with 4:11 left in the game to shrink the lead 51-66 before Shane Holmes scored a layup for Rutgers-Camden 68-51 with less than four minutes on the clock. Harsh tallied the final points for either team, a free throw with 2:58 on the clock as the Scarlet Raptors posted a 68-52 victory.

Harsh led the Roadrunners as she tallied a season high 26 points finishing 11-23 from the field while she also grabbed a team high eight rebounds. Solomon led the team with six blocked shots while she added seven points and three rebounds. The team shot 38.5% (20-52) from the field, 20% (2-10) from the three-point line and 62.5% (10-16) from the free throw line.

All five Scarlet Raptors starters scored in double figures as they were led by Ariel Robinson with 11 points and 15 rebounds while she also added two blocked shots. Johnson-Kelly tallied 17 points including three three-pointers while she grabbed seven rebounds and three steals. Holmes posted 14 points while Williams and Gabby Greene recorded 11 and 12 points respectively. The team shot 32.4% (23-71) from the floor, 29% (9-31) from the three-point line and 54.2% (13-24) from the free throw line in the game. Rutgers-Camden scored 43 points off of Ramapo turnovers in the game as the Scarlet Raptors defense forced 21 Roadrunner turnovers.
