ROADRUNNERS FALL JUST SHORT IN NJAC MATCH-UP

Pomona, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's basketball team suffered a tough loss today to the Ospreys of Stockton University, 74-76 on the road.  With the loss, the Roadrunners fall to 3-4 overall and 0-3 in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.  The Ospreys jump ahead to 5-2 and remain undefeated in conference play at 3-0.
 
Ramapo was led by Jason Battle with 20 points who shot 5-13 from the field and a perfect 9-9 from the charity stripe.  Rob McWilliams added 15 points and Connor Romano 11 as the team hit a combined 23-64 (36%).  Battle dished out three assists and grabbed three steals while he and Andre Morgan led in rebounds with six each.
 
The lead changed five times to start the game before the game's first and only tie (7-7) came with 16:14 on the clock after a layup from McWilliams.  Steve Ferebee would give the Ospreys the lead back with a layup of his own and the Ospreys never looked back as they led the reminder of the game and at the finishing buzzer.  Their biggest lead would come in the second half at 3:04 (69-55) and 2:31 (71-57) as Kyion Flanders nailed a three and Tariq Baker hit a free throw to jump ahead by 14. Battle would spark a 17-5 run for Ramapo with four straight free throws closing the gap to one, 74-75 with 18 seconds to play.  Ramapo would fall just shy at the buzzer as Jordan Taylor hit the front end of a two-shot foul with 11 seconds to play to take the win, 76-74 over Ramapo.
 
DJ Campbell led the Ospreys with 17 points and Baker and Taylor each added 12.  The team hit 26-59 (44%) from the field.  Taylor dished out five assists and Campbell led in rebounds with seven.  Taylor grabbed two steals in the win.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, December 9th when they host Mt. St. Vincent at 7:30pm in the Bradley Center.
