Las Vegas, NV:  The Muskingum University men's basketball team defeated Ramapo College 91-82 tonight at the 2019 D3Hoops.com Classic at South Point Arena. The Fighting Huskies improve to 6-3 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-7 overall.
The Roadrunners opened up the game on a 10-0 run before Marcus Dempsey and 
Jordan Zagadou traded baskets with 15:05 on the clock as Ramapo led 12-2. Trey Singleton hit a three-point shot to cut the lead to seven before 
Connor Romano sank a jumper for a 14-5 lead with 13:21 to play. An 8-1 run from Muskingum cut the Ramapo lead to two 13-15 with a three-pointer from Singleton. 
Matt Latka and Manny Warren tallied a jumper and three-pointer for Ramapo to extend the lead back to seven 20-13 before Singleton scored a jumper to come within five 15-20 with less than nine minutes left in the half. Singleton's jumper started an 11-0 run which gave the Fighting Huskies a 24-20 lead with six minutes on the clock. Muskingum took their first double-digit lead of the game on a jumper from Singleton 35-25 while Dempsey gave them their biggest lead of the half 39-27 with 1:22 on the clock with a jumper of his own. Ramapo closed out the half on a 6-0 run to cut the lead to 39-33 heading into halftime.
 
The Fighting Huskies opened the second half on a 10-2 run to take a 49-35 lead. Latka started a 12-1 run capped off with a dunk from 
Andre Morgan to come within three 47-50 with 13:08 on the clock. Morgan would bring Ramapo within two of the lead 51-53 with an and-one play before Muskingum went on a 7-2 run to extend their lead 60-53 with less than 11 minutes to play. The Fighting Huskies would stretch their lead back to double digits with 9:17 on the clock 66-56 before taking their biggest lead of the half 73-60 on a three-pointer from Tyler Bardall with 7:34 left to go. A jumper from Latka with less than four minutes left in the game cut the lead to seven 78-85 before the Fighting Huskies would close out the game outscoring Ramapo 6-4 for a 91-82 victory.
 
Marcus Dempsey recorded 35 points including 11-13 from the free throw line, 10-17 from the floor and 4-8 from beyond the three-point line. He also tallied nine assists in the game. Singleton posted 28 points which included four three-pointers while he added nine rebounds. The team shot 58% (28-48) from the field, 52% (13-25) from beyond the three-point line and 75% (22-29) from the free throw line.
 
Three Roadrunners scored in double figures in the game while Latka tallied a double double 17 points and ten rebounds. 
Jason Battle posted a team high 19 points while he dished out four assists. Warren posted 15 points while Zagadou tallied eight points. The team shot 47% (32-67) from the field, 25% (4-16) from the three-point line and 51% (14-27) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action tomorrow night as they take on the College of St. Scholastica at 11pm (EST).
