ROWAN WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS RAMAPO IN NJAC ACTION

Mahwah, NJ: The Profs of Rowan University earned a NJAC road win over Ramapo College today at the Bradley Center this afternoon, 78-51. The Profs move to 8-1 overall and remain undefeated in the conference at 5-0 overall. The Roadrunners now move to 8-3 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
 
Jenna Harsh opened the game with a jumper for Ramapo which started a 6-0 run over the next 2:13 in the game. Rowan got on the board with a three-pointer from Eliana Santana before Harsh sank a three-pointer of her own as Ramapo led 9-3. Repasy tallied a jumper for the Roadrunners 11-3 before a layup from Ayanna Johnson cut the lead to 5-11. A mini 6-2 run from the Roadrunners capped off with a jumper from Harsh as Ramapo took a ten-point lead 17-7 with less than 1:30 left in the first quarter. Rowan went on a 5-0 run to close out the first quarter seeing Ramapo with the 17-12 lead.
 
In the second, Alexis Kriley sank a three-pointer for Rowan to cut the lead to two 15-17 before Bridget Cahill sank two of her three free throws for a 19-15 lead with 8:42 on the clock. Rowan would go on a big 13-0 including eight points from Grace Marshall to take a 28-19 lead over the next 3:35 of the quarter. Ramapo snapped the run with back-to-back jumpers from Samantha Rinaldi and Sarah Minchin before a pair of free throws from Marshall put Rowan up 30-23 with 3:09 left on the clock. A three-pointer from Marshall and jumper from Kennedy Brown put Rowan up 35-23 before Harsh tallied a basket for the Roadrunners 25-35. The Profs would go on a 6-0 run to close out the second quarter and go into halftime leading 41-25. Marshall collected all 15 of her first half points in the second quarter to lead both teams.
 
Rowan opened the third quarter with a jumper from Johnson before Repasy and Minchin tallied back-to-back shots for the Roadrunners. A three-pointer from Santana started a 6-0 run for the Profs as they pushed the score to 49-29 with 4:39 left on the clock. The two teams traded baskets as Rowan went into the fourth quarter up 57-39. The Profs outscored Ramapo in the fourth quarter 21-12 while Johnson and Kriley each tallied six points. Rowan would take their biggest lead in the game with 1:45 left in the final quarter as Jazlyn Duverglas tallied a three-pointer for a 78-48 score. Repasy would tally the final points of the game for either team with a three-pointer of her own with 1:06 left to play while Rowan would post a 78-51 road win.
 
Johnson posted a career high 25 rebounds while she also tallied nine blocks and 17 points for the Profs. Kriley tallied 16 points whiel Marshall posted 15 points. The Profs scored 33% (29-87) from the field, 23% (8-34) from the three-point line and 63% (12-19) from the free throw line.
 
Harsh led the Roadrunners with 13 points while she added four steals and three assists. Repasy and Minchin each collected nine points in the game while Wickersheim grabbed a team high eight rebounds. The team shot 26% (17-65) from the floor, 25% (4-16) from the three-point line and 68% (13-19) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, December 30th when they travel to Baruch College for a non-conference game at 1pm.
