REPASY DOUBLE-DOUBLE LEADS RAMAPO OVER LEHMAN 82-42

Bronx, NY:  The Ramapo College women's basketball team moved to 7-0 overall with an 82-42 win over Lehman College today in non-conference action. This is the best start for the Roadrunners under head coach Mike Eineker. The Lightning now stand at 0-5 overall.  
 
Lehman opened the game on a 6-0 run before Ramapo got on the board with a basket from Samantha Rinaldi. Lehman's biggest lead came with 5:44 left in the first quarter with an 8-2 lead before the Roadrunners went on a 9-3 run to take a 12-11 lead. A pair of free throws from Fatomata Trawalleh put Lehman up 13-12 before a three-pointer from Rinaldi game the Roadrunners a 15-13 lead with under three minutes left in the first quarter. A three-pointer from Shanya Gonzalez gave the Lightning a one-point lead while a pair of free throws from Rinaldi gave the Roadrunners the lead for good in the game 17-16 with 2:22 on the clock. Alie Wickersheim converted on an and-one play before Trawalleh knocked down another three-pointer for Lehman to cut the Ramapo lead to one 20-10. Back-to-back baskets from Jessica Repasy and Rinaldi closed out the first quarter as Ramapo led 24-19.
 
The Ramapo defense held Lehman to just four points in the second quarter while they tallied 17 of their own to take a 41-23 lead into the locker room at halftime. In the third quarter, Ramapo poured in another 24 points while holding the Lightning to seven for a 65-30 score. In the fourth the Roadrunners put up 17 points to Lehman's 12 as Ramapo came away with an 82-42 road victory.
 
The Roadrunners posted 17 points off of Lehman turnovers while the Ramapo defense forced 19 Lightning turnovers in the game. Ramapo also scored 44 of their points in the paint along with 13 second chance points. The Roadrunners posted 46 rebounds to Lehman's 23. Four players scored in double figures as Rinaldi, Repasy and Wickersheim led the way with 16 points. Repasy pulled down ten rebounds to earn her second double-double of the season while Wickersheim finished 6-8 from the field and a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line. Ramapo finished shooting 57% (33-57) from the field, 33% (2-6) from the three-point line and 77% (14-18) from the charity stripe.
 
For Lehman, Nina Gill collected a team high 13 points while Gonzalez netted ten points of her own. Trawalleh posted nine points and Eriadna Vasquez put in eight points and a team high seven rebounds. The team shot 29% (16-55) from the field, 21% (3-14) from the three-point line and 41% (7-17) from the free throw line.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, December 4th when they host NJAC rival Montclair State University at 5:30pm at the Bradley Center.
