FIELD HOCKEY POSTS 6-2 WIN OVER DREW

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College field hockey team posted a 6-2 win over Drew University this afternoon in non-conference action. The Roadrunners improve to 5-8 overall while the Rangers now stand at 2-11 on the year.
 
The Roadrunners scored one goal in each period for the first time this season as five different members of the team hit the back of the net. Ramapo went up 1-0 when Victoria Ewanis collected her second goal of the year in the 5th minute of action. Mariah Tovar posted her team leading sixth goal of the season in the second period off a pass from Angela Oskierko. Tovar collected the goal in the 20th minute before Charlotte Grimm put Drew on the board in the 26th minute, her third of the year to cut the Ramapo lead in half 2-1. Sam Della Rovere collected a pass from Maggie Farrell and hit the back of the net to give Ramapo a 3-1 lead. Rovere's goal was scored in the 27th minute and the eventual game-winner. Victoria Docherty tallied two goals in the game, she posted her first in the 35th minute with an assist from Tovar to extend the Ramapo lead 4-1 before Angela Oskierko tacked on the team's fifth goal of the game in the 45th minute for a 5-1 score. Katie Yarussi posted her third assist of the season on Oskierko's goal. Docherty scored her second goal of the game and fifth of the season in the 46th minute as Ramapo led 6-1. Lauren Zultowski collected her fifth goal of the year to give Drew their second goal of the game in the 50th minute of action.
 
Ramapo held a 27-4 advantage in shots in the game while they posted 20-4 edge in penalty corners. Joie Slossar collected 12 saves in the cage for Drew while Samantha Stolker posted two saves for the Roadrunners.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 16th when they host NJAC rival William Paterson University at 3:30pm.
