Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College women's volleyball team earned two wins today over Brooklyn College (3-0) and York College (3-0). The Roadrunners improve to 12-4 overall and will return to action in their final NJAC match of the season on the road on October 29th at William Paterson University.
In a 3-0 (25-15, 25-23, 25-20) win over Brooklyn, the Roadrunners were led by
Morgan Ridgway and
Felicia Jimenez who tallied 11 and 10 kills respectively. Ridgway also tallied two aces, ten digs and four total blocks in the match while Jimenez added five digs, three aces and one block.
Stephanie Ross collected seven kills and ten digs while
Hannah Frascella posted six kills, three digs and one block.
Kate Shirkey dished out a team high 16 assists while
Karina Almeda tallied a team high 19 digs on defense.
Ashley Fung led Brooklyn with 11 kills while she added one ace and 14 digs. Ezri Shor posted 21 assists while Yana Shaposhikova tallied 16 digs to lead the team.
Ramapo defeated York 3-0 (25-4, 25-8, 25-7) as
Desi Brower led the team with 12 kills on 19 attempts as she hit .579 in the match.
Geri Andrea and Ross each collected five kills while Andrea tallied one ace and one block and Ross collected four digs. Shirkey tallied 15 assists while
Juliana Paslawsky dished out 11 assists of her own in the match. Almeda once again led the team on defense with 14 digs while she added a team high eight aces. The team hit .403 in the match with 32 kills on 67 attempts and just five errors.
York posted seven kills as a team while Shamonie Miller led the way with three. Alessandra Villota posted a team high eight digs while Alexandra Taveras dished out a team high six assists.
