#10 KEAN TOPS RAMAPO FIELD HOCKEY 4-1

Union, NJ:  The Kean University field hockey team remained undefeated in the NJAC with a 4-1 win over Ramapo College. The Cougars, who are ranked #10 in the most recent NFHCA Top 25, moved to 17-1 overall and 4-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 6-10 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

Melissa Way and Rachel Mills teamed up to score the first two goals for the Cougars in the game. Way put Kean on the board in the 10th minute (9:34) off a pass from Mills before they teamed up again in the 24th minute (23:47). Way collected her 24th goal of the season during the second quarter before Peyton Mann took a pass from Ja'Carra Jackson and hit the back of the net in the fourth quarter (48:05) for a 3-0 lead. Mills would score a goal of her own, this time off a pass from Way in the 54th minute (53:08) to push the Kean score to 4-0.
 
Ramapo got on the board late in the fourth quarter (59:30) when Talitha Joustra posted her first goal of the season. In the first quarter the Roadrunners looked to tie the game 1-1 in the 11th minute of action, Kean defender Lia DiPiazza came up big with two defensive saves.
 
Samantha Stolker recorded seven saves for the Roadrunners while Belly Reynoso posted three for the Cougars. Kean held a 16-9 advantage in shots and a 16-5 advantage in penalty corners.
 
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday, October 26th when they host Stockton University in a NJAC conference match at 3:30pm.
