Mahwah, NJ: The Rutgers-Camden University women's soccer team came back to defeat Ramapo College 3-1 in NJAC action this afternoon. The Scarlet Raptors move to 5-9 overall and 4-3 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-8-1 overall and 0-5-1 in the NJAC.
Lauren Vladyka got the Roadrunners on the board in the 34th minute during the first half with a goal off a pass from
Kaitlyn Kelly. Vladyka scored her fifth goal of the season with a high shot over the keeper's head for the 1-0 lead. The score remained until the second half when the Scarlet Raptors would record three unanswered goals.
Lauren Calabria collected her own rebound and scored just 58 seconds into the second half to tie the game 1-1. Maggie Horn would put the Scarlet Raptors up 2-1 with a goal in the 47th minute as Lauren Bone earned the assist. Rutgers-Camden was awarded a free-kick (48:03) just outside the 18-yard box as Amanda Giordano took the kick. She was able to score her first goal of the season on a perfectly placed shot high into the goal for the 3-1 lead.
The Scarlet Raptors held a 15-8 advantage in shots in the game while they recorded four corners to Ramapo's three.
Elizabeth Harvell collected seven saves in the net for the Roadrunners while Natalie Eberhardt posted three for Rutgers-Camden.
