Montclair, NJ: The Ramapo College women's soccer team posted a tough 0-8 loss today on the road to Montclair State University in a New Jersey Athletic Conference match-up. With the loss the Lady Roadrunners fall to 4-6-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the conference. MSU improves to 8-4-2 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 4-0-1.
The Red Hawks out shot Ramapo 10-1 in the first half of play as Samantha Senatore scored the eventual game winner at 14:46 off an assist from Tori Rolls. The pair teamed up again under two minutes later to put the Red Hawks on top, 2-0. Only 40 seconds later, Emily Beenders posted an unassisted goal to go ahead three goals to none. The score held to the halftime buzzer.
The Red Hawks scattered five more goals in the second half where MSU again out shot Ramapo, 15-2.
Elizabeth Harvell and
Alexandra Kerwin split the goaltending duties making six saves combined for Ramapo. Pheobe Bledsoe and Nicole Carbobe spilt the game for the Red Hawks making just one save.
Ramapo returns to action on Wednesday, October 16
th when they host Kean University at 3pm.
