Wayne, NJ: The Ramapo College men's swim team defeated NJAC rival William Paterson University tonight on the road 150-55 as they won nine events. The Roadrunners now stand at 4-5 overall and 1-3 in the NJAC. The Pioneers fall to 9-3 overall and 0-3 in the conference.
The 200-yard medley relay team won with a time of 1:43.77 to earn 11 points to start the meet for the Roadrunners. The team was made up of
Tomer Bachar,
Josh Templeton,
James Liao and
Patrick Herrera.
Aviad Mana won the 1,000-yard freestyle when he clocked in at 10:56.31 while Bachar won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:52.33. Templeton won the 200-yard IM (2:02.00) and the 100-yard butterfly (55.71).
Noah Callahan placed second in the 200-yard IM (2:10.88) while
Nick Bates finished in third place (2:21.51). The Roadrunners went 1-2 in the 100-yard backstroke as
Nicholas Markwell placed first (57.86) and
Tyler Czubachowski finished second in 59.76.
Ramapo also finished 1-2 in the 500-yard freestyle when Bates and
Antonino Tramontana posted times of 5:17.53 and 5:25.79 respectively.
Sean Flannery posted a winning time of 1:02.70 in the 100-yard breaststroke while
Chris Lee placed second (1:05.61) and
Julian Charles placed third (1:06.85). The 200-yard freestyle relay team, made up of Markwell,
Julian Giglio,
Alex Barszcz and Mana, grabbed a first place finish in 1:32..71.
The team returns to action on Saturday, February 2nd when they travel to Drew University for the final dual meet of the season at 1pm.
