Mahwah, NJ: The Ramapo College men's soccer team blanked Lehman College in a non-conference game today at the Athletic Center 4-0. The Roadrunners move to 3-0 overall while the Lightning now stand at 1-1 on the year.
The Roadrunners took a 1-0 lead when
Joseph Fala scored the first goal of the game in the 30th minute in the first half off a pass from
Jorge Castro 1-0. The Roadrunners held the lead heading into halftime as they out shot Lehman 16-3 in the first half.
Chris Nash scored his first goal of the season, once again off a pass from Castro to open the scoring in the second half (55:20) before Fala scored his second goal of the game and sixth of the year for a 3-0 score in the 59th minute. Nash earned the assist on Fala's second goal.
Edward Franzoni tallied his first goal of the year in the 69th minute (68:01), unassisted to extend the Roadrunner lead 3-0.
Ramapo outshout Lehman in the game 36-4 while the Roadrunners collected all nine corner kicks.
Joshua Schaffer collected his second shutout of the season as he needed to make only one save. Chris Mulholland started the game and made two saves in just over 24 minutes of action for Lehman while Demiraldo Grunasi collected 14 saves in over 65 minutes of play.
Ramapo returns to action on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they host John Jay College in a non-conference game.
