MEN'S SOCCER POSTS THIRD STRAIGHT SHUTOUT IN 1-0 WIN

Mahwah, NJ:  The Ramapo College men's soccer team faced off with John Jay College today in a non-conference matchup as the Roadrunners earned a 1-0 shutout to improve to 4-0 on the year. With the loss, John Jay falls to 1-2.
 
Junior Nick Petrozziello got Ramapo on the scoreboard just over four minutes into the game as he took a pass from Jorge Castro.
 
The score would hold until the halftime buzzer where Ramapo held a 5-3 advantage in shots. Joshua Schaffer made two saves in goal for Ramapo while Steven Towler made two of his own for the Bloodhounds.   John Jay earned three corners in the half while Ramapo collected two.
 
In the second, the Roadrunners took ten shots to John Jay's three but neither team was able to capitalize, the Roadrunners with some great opportunities, leaving Ramapo ahead, 1-0 for their fourth victory of the season.
 
Schaffer made two saves in the final 45 minutes and Towler blocked six shots for the Bloodhounds. Ramapo had the lone corner in the half.
 
Prior to the game, Ramapo College President, Dr. Peter Mercer joined the men's soccer team to dedicate the newly renovated turf field with a ceremonial kick-off.
 
The Roadrunners return to action on September 12th when they travel to Brooklyn College for a 4pm non-conference matchup.
