Mahwah, NJ: The College of New Jersey field hockey team earned their fourth straight win and first of the NJAC season with an 8-0 win over host Ramapo College. The Lions improve to 7-1 overall and 1-0 in the conference while the Roadrunners now stand at 3-6 on the year and 0-1 in the NJAC.

The Lions, who are ranked #4 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Top 25, scored six first half goals. Tori Tiefenthaler led the team with two goals in the first half while she added her third goal of the game and seventh of the season in the second half. Tiefenthaler put the Lions on the board in the first half (7:34) off a pass from Jordan Allegretto before Kayla Peterson hit the back of the net off a cross from Caroline Quinn following a penalty corner (9:12). Peterson assisted on back-to-back goals as Cayla Andrews and Tiefenthaler each scored for a 4-0 lead just over 15 minutes into the game. Quinn recorded her own goal (31:40) before Sidney Padilla (33:09) made it 6-0 for TCNJ off a corner from Quinn.

In the second half, Tiefenthaler (55:56) and Taylor Barrett (60:05) each scored for the Lions pushing the score to 8-0. Maddie Beaumont recorded two saves in the shutout win for TCNJ while
Samantha Stolker tallied 12 saves for Ramapo.

Victoria Ewanis all posted big defensive saves for Ramapo in the game.

The Roadrunners return to action on Wednesday, October 3rd when they travel to NJAC rival William Paterson University for a conference game at 7pm.
