Mahwah, NJ: The Middlebury College women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College this morning at the Bradley Center 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-8) in non-conference action. The Panthers improve to 6-3 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 4-10 on the season.
Middlebury was led by Isabel Sessions who recorded 14 kills on 25 attempts with just two errors as she hit .480 in the match. She also collected three aces, four digs and one block. Sarah Staver hit .500 in the match with 12 kills on 20 attempts and two errors, she also collected nine digs, two blocks and a team high five aces. Maggie Wise and Corley Doyle each tallied six kills in the match while Doyle recorded a hitting percentage of .600 in ten attempts and no errors. Chellsa Ferdinand dished out a team high 22 assists while she posted four aces and three digs. Emma Walsh collected 11 assists of her own while Staver led the way with two total blocks for the team. The Panthers hit .414 in the match with 43 kills on 87 attempts and just seven errors.
For the Roadrunners,
Hannah Frascella led the team with eight kills while she added two digs and one block. Felecia Jimenez and
Samantha Main each posted five kills while
Morgan Ridgway collected four kills of her own.
Kate Shirkey dished out 12 assists while
Kristina Semple led the team on defense with 19 digs. Main posted a team high three total blocks including one solo block. The team recorded 23 kills on 97 attempts in the match.
Ramapo returns to action on Friday, September 28th when they travel to Washington, DC for the Worthington Classic hosted by Gallaudet University. The Roadrunners first match is at 2pm against Gallaudet.
