Schenectady, NY: The Union College women's soccer team defeated Ramapo College 4-0 tonight in non-conference action. The Dutchwomen improve to 3-3-1 overall while the Roadrunners now stand at 2-5 on the year.
Erin O'Shea put Union on the board in the first half with a goal at 15:02 off a pass from Linsey Giles for a 1-0 lead. Neither team would score the rest of the first half as Union led 1-0 heading into the second half.
In the second half, the Dutchwomen added three goals, one each from Paige Sherling (53:06), Amanda Ashmen (64:50) before O'Shea collected her second goal of the game in the 67th minute (66:10). Union recorded 26 shots (14 on goal) to Ramapo's eight shots (two on goal) in the game while the Dutchwomen recorded ten corners to Ramapo's two.
Elizabeth Harvell recorded a season high ten saves in the game for Ramapo while Kelsey Hartsoe stopped two Ramapo shots on goal in the first 67 minutes of action. Alison Sorkenn did not face a shot in the final 23 minutes in the net for Union.
The Roadrunners return to action on Saturday, Sept. 22nd when they host #7 the College of New Jersey at 1pm in NJAC conference action.
