Mahwah, NJ: The Rowan University women's volleyball team defeated Ramapo College tonight in NJAC action 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-18). With the victory, the Profs improve to 10-4 overall and 1-1 in the conference while the Roadrunners fall to 4-7 overall and 1-1 in the NJAC.
A balanced offensive scoring attack by the Profs helped them in the match. Megan Jacobi led the way with eight kills while Kailey Gallagher added seven. Jamie Shirtz, Lauren Horbacewicz and Erin Keegan each tallied five kills apiece. Tori Mock dished out a team high 14 assists while she added ten digs. Alaina Santacroce collected nine assists, nine digs and three aces. Kristin Akin posted a team high 15 digs on defense while Keegan recorded 13 digs and Mock and Emma Cormican each tallied ten for the match. Horbacewicz led the team with three total blocks including one solo block. The team hit .154 in the match with 31 kills on 117 attempts and 13 errors.
For the Roadrunners,
Morgan Ridgway led the team with 11 kills while she added one ace and 12 digs.
Nathalie Ortiz posted seven kills, one dig and one block while
Aniella Bednarz contributed with six kills and two blocks.
Kate Shirkey and
Sara Correa split the setting duties as Shirkey posted a team high 15 and Correa added ten of her own.
Felicia Jimenez tallied four kills, two aces and 19 digs while
Kristina Semple led the team with 24 digs on defense.
The Roadrunners return to action when they travel to NJAC rival Rutgers-Newark University on Thursday, September 20th for a conference match at 7pm.
